Databricks updates Genie One with default ontology, file uploads, and scheduled tasks

Databricks has updated Genie One across context, data access, collaboration, and automation.

Genie Ontology is enabled by default, so questions can use built-in business-aware context. Workspace instructions apply an organization’s data conventions to every prompt. Word documents, images, CSVs, spreadsheets, and PDFs can be uploaded directly into a workflow.

Unity Catalog tables can be queried inside Genie, with schema preview and one-click access requests. Scheduled tasks can automate recurring work and reference past runs for consistent outputs.
