Microsoft Research introduced [Agent Lightning](https://msft.it/6019aokV1), a project designed to connect existing AI agents to reinforcement learning training.

According to Microsoft Research, training AI agents with reinforcement learning can be challenging because their tools, context, and decision-making are governed by complex frameworks. Agent Lightning connects existing agents to RL training workflows so they can be improved without rebuilding them.
